It reflects the work of our staff, both public-facing and behind the scenes, who make it possible. We’re pleased to be recognised as a venue supported by a strong and very capable team” says Sarah Franczak, Chief Operating Officer at Central Hall Westminster.
Sustainable Events at Central Hall Westminster
Sustainability has been integral to Central Hall Westminster, and we’re pleased that Greengage have highlighted this by awarding us for our supply chain initiative. One major initiative we’ve focused on this year has been doubling our waste disposal streams from 12 to 24 to achieve zero landfill waste.
There are several ways we’ve implemented this, including…
- Supplier engagement meetings
- Enhanced on-site waste separation
- Our AV partner White Light has incorporated energy-efficient AV equipment and minimised transport emissions through pre-built event setups.
- Our catering partner Green & Fortune has transformed its supply chain by reducing food miles, prioritising seasonal British ingredients, and eliminating single-use plastics in its packaging.
- Our cleaning partner, Atlas, has shifted to 100% renewable energy and has introduced electric charging points to reduce transport emissions.
- SBS Security are encouraging staff to use public transport, recycle ink cartridges and reduce paper use by transitioning to digital processes.
Through implementing these sustainability initiatives, Central Hall Westminster have achieved a 100% diversion of waste from landfill, expanding disposal streams and strengthening partnerships with waste management providers.

- White Light has integrated low-power AV solutions to support our carbon reduction targets
- Replaced our gas boiler, resulting in a four-tonne reduction in carbon emissions
- SBS Security’s transition to hybrid and electric fleet vehicles has contributed to emissions reductions.

Food waste has been tackled through Green & Fortune’s recipe management system and partnerships with Too Good To Go. This partnership has allowed us to optimise food orders and redistribute surplus to significantly cut waste, saving 487 meals in the last 12 months and avoiding 1.31 tonnes of CO2e.
We have been monitoring these measurable successes through supplier sustainability reports, waste data analysis, and ongoing environmental audits, ensuring continuous progress towards our environmental goals.
We’re so proud of our achievements and have set collective goals to reach Net Zero by 2050, with a milestone goal for 2030.
