Central Hall Westminster once again played a key role in an inquiry of national importance after being selected as the host venue for the publication day of the Report for the Infected Blood Inquiry. The event on 20 May 2024 marked the historic finale of the process, which began in 2018 and was designed to examine the circumstances in which an estimated 30,000 NHS patients in the UK had been given infected blood or blood products contaminated with Hepatitis C or HIV since 1970. Over 3,000 people have died as a result, while thousands live with ongoing health conditions.
