Ensuring a smooth entry and queuing experience
If you are attending an event, you may experience queues around the building as we work to welcome everyone safely and securely. Our security team conducts bag checks for all visitors, which can take a little time.
Please follow any event-specific instructions provided on your ticket or by the event organiser. We always recommend allowing plenty of time before your event to ensure a smooth and timely arrival.
Amenities available
- Bars: Two licenced bars are available on Level 3 with a selection of beer, wine and soft drinks as well as snack items. Please confirm with the event organisers if these will be operating during the event. Spirits are not available for purchase.
- Retail bars will conclude alcohol service no later than 10mins before show start. Please note that alcohol is not permitted within the Great Hall and must be consumed in the foyer space before the start of the show. External food and beverage are not permitted in the venue.
- Toilets: Are available on Level 3 and Level 4. Please note that if using facilities during the show, you may be held in the foyer space until a suitable time in the event programme to re-enter.
- Water: Free drinking water is available from coolers located throughout the building. While external beverages are not permitted in the venue, empty water bottles can be brought in and refilled inside.
- Cloakroom: Located off the main reception, the cloakroom accepts coats and small bags free of charge. Please confirm awith the event organisers if this will be operating during the event.
Accessibility at Central Hall Westminster
- Wheelchair Access: Wheelchair access is available via our accessibility entrance on Storey’s Gate. Please ensure you have purchased a valid mobility seat if required.
- Vision and Hearing Enhancements: The Great Hall has built-in induction loops and hearing assistance. Please speak to a member of staff.
- Assistance: Guide and assistance dogs are permitted in the venue.
Trained Access Hosts: Security are available to assist guests with specific requirements throughout their visit.

As central London’s largest purpose-built event space, the Great Hall offers an expansive capacity of just under 2,000pax.
- Stalls: Mobility seating is located in this zone
- Balcony: Please note that due to the tiered seating in this zone, there is no mobility seating on the balcony level. No standing is permitted in this area.
Central Hall Westminster prohibited items
The following items are not permitted into Central Hall Westminster. Please note prohibited items will be confiscated.
- Weapons (including knives or any items that could be used as weapons)
Alcohol not purchased from CHW - Illicit drugs – illegal substances
- Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside the venue
- External food and beverage not purchased from CHW – including commercially produced and self-catering.
- Empty water bottles are welcomed and can be brought in and refilled inside.
- Glass
- Glue
- Aerosol spray paint
- Chewing gum
- Umbrellas (depending on event type and weather conditions, these may be permitted)
- Advertisements, notices, signs, decoration, posters, flags or devices unless prior written permission has been received from CHW
- Religious tracts not approved by MCHW
- Newspapers, periodicals, books or any other items for the purpose of distributing or selling within the venue unless prior written consent has been given by CHW
- Smoke, haze, pyrotechnics, confetti, cracked oil, helium balloons or any other special effect unless prior approval by CHW’s onsite AV supplier, CHW’s Health & Safety Officer, and CHW’s Senior Facilities Manager
- Animals or pets, with the exception of guide or assistance dogs
- Drones
- Photographic, video or audio recording equipment for professional purposes (unless prior written permission has been received from CHW)
- Any items in connection with betting or gambling (including lotteries and games of chance)
- Any items that are dangerous, offensive, noxious, illegal or immoral or which may become a nuisance to CHW or neighbouring property
Alcohol
- Only alcohol purchased from CHW can be consumed in the building
- No alcohol may be brought into or consumed in the Great Hall or Reception (including staircases)
- Any intoxicated patrons will be removed from the venue
- We may not supply alcohol to any underage patrons in the venue
- We may not supply alcohol to someone who is drunk or appears to be drunk
