The Donald English Room

The Donald English Room takes its name from the Reverend Donald English, a twice-elected former President of the Methodist Church.

It is a multifaceted, adaptable room located on Level 2, with natural light, optional blackout facilities, and air conditioning. 

The Donald English Room can be comfortably set up in multiple styles, with a maximum capacity of 150 people in theatre style. Its striking surroundings and discreet upper-level location makes it ideal for hosting formal events such as meetings, seminars, and seated lunches or dinners.

Technology and AV

We can provide a range of technical and audio visual solutions to support your event in the Donald English Room.

Our standard AV package has been tailored to account for the room’s unique shape and acoustics, and includes:

  • 80-inch 16:9 format projection screen
  • HDMI / VGA input from client laptop
  • Yamaha VXS 4 speaker vocal reinforcement system
  • Yamaha VXS bass speaker
  • 2 wired lectern microphones
  • Creston HD colour touch screen to manage enquipment

You also have the option to hire an expert AV technician to provide you with additional support during your event.

Menus and catering

We can provide a host of flexible catering options to suit your event, no matter what style. Our extensive range of menus include canapés, bowl food, hot and cold buffets, and even afternoon tea.

Our on-site catering partner KUDOS can also work with you to create a bespoke menu if you wish. All catering and refreshments are served in a separate catering area – normally one of our four nearby syndicate rooms, helpfully located on the same level.
