London Fashion Week kicks off today and as we await the latest trends and looks, let’s take a deep dive into the incredible fashion shows hosted by yours truly. From British luxury fashion house Burberry to Simone Rocha, Anya Hindmarch, Molly Goddard, and DAKS, Central Hall Westminster has been the canvas for some iconic fashion events.

Central Hall Westminster boasts expansive rooms, including the Great Hall, Lecture Hall, and Library, providing the perfect backdrop for fashion shows. The versatility of these spaces allows for complete transformations to complement creative collections. The Great Hall, Lecture Hall, and Library all offer ample room for runways, with backstage areas and additional spaces serving as press areas or dressing rooms.

A pivotal part of the success of these fashion shows is Central Hall Westminster’s in-house AV department, Whitelight. Experts in lighting, sound, projection, and staging, they ensure that every fashion show held at Central Hall Westminster is an unforgettable experience. Their commitment to excellence contributes to the execution of the creative vision behind each and every show and production.

For Burberry’s A/W 22, their first show in 2 years since COVID, the models came down our great hall stairs before climbing onto banqueting tables laid with crockery and cutlery to a live orchestra. With the Hadid sisters walking, the show was enjoyed by the celebrity likes of Anna Wintour, Adam Driver, Jacob Elordi, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss.

Simone Rocha’s A/W 23/24 show took advantage of the Great Hall’s dome ceiling and red carpet to match the model’s red ribbon tears. Guests were seated across two levels and enjoyed a performance by Irish folk group Lankum before a live set on the grand organ and whilst the models circled the space dressed in leather, lace, bows and pearls.

Central Hall Westminster, with its timeless elegance and commitment to facilitating artistic expression, remains a popular venue choice for the fashion world. As we reflect on the past fashion moments, the excitement builds for the upcoming Fashion Week and what’s to come…

‘It was important for me to explore what it means to belong; how community is what truly brings meaning to the world. I wanted this collection to celebrate coming together and the city in which we come together today. To me, London is a place of dreams, of moving beyond boundaries. The collection embodies an intangible essence that is Britishness, honouring the beauty of the past while focusing on the future with thankfulness, hope and love.’ – Riccardo Tisci, Former CCO Burberry.
