Venue History

The venue, which can claim to be one of the world's first purpose-built meetings facilities was designed by Lancester and Rickards and constructed on the site of the former Royal Aquarium. On the 3rd of October 1912, the Viennese Baroque styled building opened its doors to the public and quickly established itself as a prime venue for debate of current affairs and concerts.

  • Queen & Adam Lambert live in concert (2014)

  • 70 years anniversary of the United Nations (2016)

Corporate Social Responsibility has been imprinted in the 100 year history of this Grade II* listed venue. Funded by the Methodist Church, it welcomes the Methodist congregation of Westminster to regular services in the Chapel and to Sunday Service in the Great Hall.
