Central Hall Westminster boasts a Stunning Refurbished Lecture Hall and Library

Central Hall Westminster has recently undergone a major refurbishment plan for the library and the lecture hall, two of the largest conference rooms offering a combined banqueting capacity for up to 500 people.

The refurbishment included the redecoration of both ceilings, upgrading of light fittings throughout and all of the woodwork carefully repaired within keeping of the original detailing and polished to help preserve the quality.
The piece de la resistance throughout the refurbishment is the bespoke carpet which has been laid in both rooms reflecting the intricate plaster work design of the ceiling, custom made by the Ulster Carpet Company.

Simon Ablett, conservation architect of Richard Griffiths Architects comments: “It was imperative that we ensured the refurbishment enhanced the original stunning architectural design and kept this as the focus of the room. We decided to reflect this outstanding architecture in the carpets. It really was a fantastic project which allowed me to use my design skills as well as conserving the historic architecture.”

Both the library and the lecture hall are located immediately off the grand entrance foyer on the first floor benefiting from adaptable space ideal for conferences, galas and seminars or events. The library also benefits from its own stage making it an intimate concert venue, ideal for ensemble groups.
The sound proof shutters between the library and the lecture hall opens offering an exceptional area for exhibitions totalling 623 sq m. Both refurbished room offer natural light, a blackout option, varied lighting and audiovisual facilities.
